Film lamination is the process of applying a thin protective film to the printed surface, which improves the resistance of the packaging and emphasizes its visual and user effect. In addition to protection against wear, scratches, and moisture, film lamination also significantly affects the final appearance of the packaging.

At Jamnik, we use various types of film laminations depending on the purpose of the packaging, the desired visual effect, and the project requirements.

Available are:

  • matte film lamination,
  • gloss film lamination,
  • soft touch film lamination,
  • various film laminations with structures,
  • biodegradable film lamination foils.

Gloss film lamination emphasizes colours, increases contrast, and creates a distinct visual effect, while matte film lamination adds an elegant, calm, and premium look to the packaging. Soft touch film lamination creates a soft, velvety surface feel and improves the user experience of the packaging.

An important step in the development of production is also the investment in our own film lamination machine, which we introduced in April 2026. With this, we have further increased production flexibility, improved quality control, and ensured even faster responsiveness in project execution.

Since we now also have film lamination in-house, we can offer clients practically the entire packaging production process under one roof – from printing to final finishing and the final production of the packaging.

In addition to standard solutions, we also follow sustainable packaging trends, which is why we offer the use of biodegradable films for projects where environmental aspects of packaging are important.

Types of film lamination

  • Matte film lamination: Elegant and premium look with reduced light reflection.
  • Gloss film lamination: Emphasized colours, greater contrast, and a distinct visual effect.
  • Soft touch film lamination: Soft, velvety surface feel for luxury and premium packaging.
  • Biodegradable films: A more sustainable alternative to classic film lamination foils.
