In August 2018, the company Jamnik d.o.o. began the process of obtaining the new ISO 22000 certificate, which ensures food safety. The ISO 22000 standard was published in 2005 with the official title “Food Safety Management Systems,” and a new, updated version was released this year. The purpose of the standard is to provide a system that monitors and ensures safety and is intended for all organizations in the food industry, from primary production, food processing, and storage to packaging in cardboard packaging – i.e., all materials and objects that come into contact with food. Our company’s goal is to obtain the standard by December 2018 through a pre-audit and then official certification by a certification body in early 2019. Obtaining the standard is of paramount importance for our company, as by fulfilling the requirements set by ISO 22000 for food safety management systems, we demonstrate our ability to control risks in food production and thus ensure the final safety of products.
The company also obtained grants for the implementation of the ISO 22000 standard.
